Step 0: Get With Joe First
Before you quote or sell any Faye policies, check in with Joe to make sure the Jess.Travel banking details are set up in your TravelJoy account. Otherwise, commissions won’t flow correctly and it gets messy on the backend. It’s a quick fix, but don’t skip it. Here is the official Traveljoy article for help with Faye.
Faye 101: What It Is and Why We Use It
Faye is a modern travel insurance provider that makes the process simple for both planners and clients. It’s fully integrated into TravelJoy, so there’s no need to send people to third-party websites. You quote directly in your invoice or group page, and clients can buy with one click. Their coverage is strong, support is 24/7, and the mobile app is actually useful — clients can manage their plan, file claims, and even get instant reimbursement for some expenses.
Faye is available to U.S. residents with primary health insurance. If you're quoting for a minor, a parent or guardian needs to be on the invoice first.
You Can Use Faye for Group Trips and Solo/Custom Trips
This works whether you're planning a full group tour or a custom itinerary for one traveler. Just make sure you add it in the right place:
Option 1: Add Faye to a Solo or Custom Trip
Go into the individual invoice inside TravelJoy.
Scroll to the bottom and check “Offer travel insurance.”
If it’s your first time, you’ll be prompted to watch a short onboarding video to stay compliant with licensing requirements.
Enter the destination, dates, and total trip cost.
You can also choose to enable Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage.
Click Update Invoice and send it off.
Clients will see the option to purchase Faye insurance directly in their invoice. Once they purchase, Faye sends the policy via email and includes you in the CC.
Option 2: Add Faye to a Group Booking Page
Open the group booking page editor and go to the Pricing tab.
Scroll to the Payment Details section and check “Offer travel insurance.”
If it’s your first time, you’ll need to complete the onboarding video here as well.
Enter the destination and dates for the group trip.
You can toggle CFAR coverage on/off.
Click Update Group Booking Page and make sure you publish it.
Once published, clients will be offered Faye insurance at checkout when they reserve their spot in the group.
Built-In Reminders (So You Don’t Have to Nag)
If a client skips the insurance when first presented, TravelJoy automatically sends them a reminder to purchase Faye 30 days before the trip and the day before departure. These reminders link to a standalone insurance invoice — so you get another chance to close the sale and protect them (and yourself).
A Few More Things to Know:
Once purchased, clients get a welcome email with their policy and a link to download the Faye app, where they can track coverage, file claims, and access live support 24/7.
If a client declines insurance, that decision is recorded in TravelJoy — which is great for liability.
You’re eligible for commission on every policy sold as long as your account is connected correctly (hence, Step 0).
Final Thought (Not Really, But Sorta)
Faye is a win-win — clients get reliable coverage with a slick mobile experience, and you get peace of mind and a commission check without jumping through hoops. Just be sure to talk to Joe before you start offering it, so everything’s wired up correctly.
