You have a variety of low tech, high tech, paid and free methods to deliver your final itinerary to the client, and there's no right or wrong way to do it. However, Jess recommends beginning travel planners utilize the free tripit app available for iOS or android.

You can share the trip with your client, and they can create a free account which allows them to view the trip online or offline (which is super convenient if they're traveling to place with poor cell service).

Once Jess has created a trip on the Tripit app or desktop for the client, she forwards all confirmation emails she gets for a client's trip to plans@tripit.com. Tripit then does the work for you and places it in the correct trip. Tripit also has a feature that can spy through your email and automatically add info the trip it thinks is correct. However, Jess recommends turning these automatic features off. The reason being is that once you're doing a heavy volume of trips, you might have trips for different clients overlapping, and we have seen Tripit attribute the confirmation email information to the wrong trip. This could be an organizational disaster for you.

JESS TIP: So to avoid this, in your tripit account, Go to the “About You” section under settings, and uncheck “Put new plans into trips.” This makes sure that every time you forward something to tripit, it will go into your UNFILED items tab, and you can manually move them into the appropriate trip.

Once you've verified everything is in the right trip, you can go ahead and add some text and pictures to brighten the narrative. If there's anywhere that tripit underwhelms it's here. Although tripit displays the information well, and the map feature works perfectly, from an aesthetic point of view, there are much more impressive/prettier ways to view a final itinerary. However, these options often cost money via subscription, but perhaps they're worth it to you. We have found that options like Travefy or Trip Creator are amazing, but lack the one detail that we love about tripit, which is the ability to forward the confirmation emails, and have all the info filled in on the app. With these other methods, while being more aesthetically pleasing, you would have to manually copy and paste all this info into them.

Here's a great rundown of the features of tripit.
